Crystal Mothershead Gaudette is the principal at Gaudette Law & Mediation. Her mediation and legal counseling practice is backed by her more than two decades of experience as a civil litigator, representing clients in a wide range of complex disputes involving business and commercial matters, employment, real estate, contracts, and other civil claims.
Crystal began mediating cases in 2021 and regularly mediates disputes involving contracts, employment, real estate and other property matters, personal injury claims, and other civil disputes. Her experience as a litigator gives her a practical understanding of the legal, business, and personal considerations that drive disputes—and the perspective needed to help parties reach meaningful resolutions. She takes a direct, no-nonsense approach to mediation, focusing quickly on the issues that matter most and working with the parties to identify practical paths toward resolution. In addition to a private practice, Crystal mediates cases through the Monterey County Superior Court Court-Directed Mediation Program.
Crystal’s practice also includes substantial legal counseling. She regularly assists businesses with asset purchases and sales, contract review, lease negotiation, employment matters, and other day-to-day legal needs. She also serves in a general counsel capacity for several local businesses, allowing owners to focus on running their business while she handles legal issues that arise. Crystal prides herself on providing sound, practical legal advice that helps clients achieve their business objectives.
Crystal was born and raised in Pacific Grove, where she currently lives with her husband and two daughters. She is active in the community, currently serving as Chair of the P.G. Chamber of Commerce, Secretary of the Monterey County Women Lawyers Association, and Chair of P.G. P.R.I.D.E. (Public Response in Dollars for Education). She also plays competitive tennis in the Monterey Bay Women’s A League and through USTA. Crystal enjoys coaching her kids, and has coached soccer, basketball and softball locally through the YMCA and P.G. Pony Baseball organizations, as well as at Pacific Grove Middle School.
